Water Flows But No Pressure

When water exits the nozzle but never builds working pressure, the supply path is already delivering water to the pump — so the cause sits at the nozzle, the inlet screen, or inside the pump. The most common consumer-safe causes are a clogged or worn removable nozzle, a restricted supply, or a clogged external inlet screen. If those are clear and pressure still does not build, the cause is likely internal and you should stop.

Safe diagnostic flow for flow without pressure

Because water is already reaching the pump, these checks focus on the nozzle and inlet screen first, then confirm the supply is not partially restricted. Only observe parts the manufacturer designates as user-serviceable, with the machine off, unplugged or shut off, and pressure released before you remove any accessory.

  1. Inspect the removable nozzle first. A clogged or worn nozzle is the most common cause of flow without pressure — water passes through but the restriction that creates working pressure is gone.
